John is an accounting professional with 25 years working in industry, including small business start-ups, high-tech, dot.coms, nonprofits, and manufacturing environments. He also has enjoyed spending 12 years teaching accounting courses at Montana State University (Bozeman), and three years teaching Quickbooks Online.
John's professional certifications include: Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified in Financial Management (CFM), as recognized by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA). John is also a Certified ProAdvisor with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop accounting software.
With strength in numbers, analysis, and decision making support, John's business experience includes accounting and bookkeeping, preparing annual operating budgets, strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, cash flow planning, business decision analytical support, month/year end accounting close, internal controls, and payroll.
John feels deeply committed to the Gallatin Valley. As a way to give back to his community, he founded and directed Bozeman's largest run/walk event: Huffing For Stuffing Thanksgiving Day Run. Dating back to the inaugural running in 2007, Huffing For Stuffing has hosted tens of thousands of runners and walkers, and has raised more than $430,000 for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank!
